We sometimes are approached by owners trying to economise on running costs for the geyser (approx. 30 – 50 %) of elec. costs. Owners want to know if it’s a good idea to manually switch geyser off until say an hour or two before a bath / shower; alternatively the installation of a timer. I think most of them understand that geysers were not designed to be switched on / off so frequently – but load shedding does that anyway?
